| Abstract：Objective To evaluate the quality of Ferula asafoetida from different sources.Methods In accordance with the methods specified in Volume IV of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia (2020 Edition)，tests were conducted to determine the moisture content, total ash content, extracts (including ethanol-soluble extract and water-soluble extract), and volatile oil content.Results There were significant quality differences in Ferula asafoetida from different sources; some items failed to meet the standard requirements, and there was no quality standard for asafoetida essence.Conclusion Based on the study of Ferula asafoetida from different sources, it is recommended to establish a more scientific quality standard in combination with its clinical application status. |
