Abstract : Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) causes persistent respiratory symptoms and reduced pulmonary function. It is difficult to control the disease using only medical therapy in these patients, especially for patients with concurrent other chronic respiratory diseases. Here we describe a case of a 68-year-old man with COPD, who has poor basic physical function and successively suffers from viral pneumonia. After evaluating the patient's condition, we performed stretching exercises extremities, endurance exercise for the upper and lower limbs, respiratory muscle training and walking and treadmill training for him. Pulmonary rehabilitation helped relieve his respiratory symptoms, improve the physiological and psychological functions, enhanced his ability to cope with daily life.
